Motorcyclist Casualties in Bedfordshire and Luton 2006

In 2006, 273 people were killed or seriously injured in road traffic collisions within Bedfordshire and Luton. Of these, 63 were motorcyclists.


25 were on bikes of less than 500cc, and 38 were on bigger bikes.


As a motorcyclist, you represent approximately 1% of traffic on our roads, but nearly a quarter of all serious road casualties. 

About two-thirds of all motorcycle casualties were the result of rider error, and one third the result of other's errors.
